How to keep the book

A method for honest records

1. Do not take what the place still needs Observe first. Photograph in situ. Collect only where permitted, and never listed or scarce species.
2. Write the minimum well Date, locality (with coordinates if you can), habitat, count, life stage, and what the animal was doing.
3. Separate fact from guess Mark uncertain determinations. A careful “cf.” is worth more than a confident error.
4. Keep the chain Export the JSON from time to time. This cabinet lives in your browser until you back it up.
